A joint meeting of the Mineralogical Society of Great Britain and Ireland, the Mineralogical Society of America, the Mineralogical Association of Canada and the Société Française de Minéralogie et de Cristallographie

The first ever joint meeting of MinSoc, MSA, MAC and SFMC will be held at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge from 26–28 June 2007 and will include five plenary lectures and 18 symposia. The scientific focus of the meeting will be on recent advances in research into the properties and behaviour of minerals, together with their geological contexts in rocks and biosystems, under the overall theme of 'Frontiers in Mineral Sciences'.

Plenary lecturers will be given by: Frank Spear (Rensselaer Poly. Inst. USA), Dana medal lecturer; Peter Keleman (Columbia), Hallimond Lecturer;  Anthony William-Jones (McGill); Peter Burns (Notre-Dame); and Pascal Richet (Paris).

The organisers are absolutely delighted by the tremendous response to this meeting which will include more than 250 oral and more than 120 poster presentations.
