Scientific Programme

The meeting will include five plenary lectures and 18 symposia. Its scientific focus will be on recent advances in research into the properties and behaviour of minerals, together with their geological contexts in rocks and biosystems, under the overall theme of “Frontiers in Mineral Sciences”.

Plenary lecturers will be given by: Frank Spear (Rensselaer Poly. Inst. USA), Dana Medal lecturer; Peter Kelemen (Columbia), Hallimond Lecturer; Anthony William-Jones (McGill); Peter Burns (Notre-Dame); and Pascal Richet (Paris).
