Structure of Council

The Society is governed by a board of trustees known as the Council. The Council is advised by the Finance/Officers Committee and the Publications Committee and occasionally by other ad hoc committees. Each of the Special Interest Groups (SIG) is run by a Committee and each SIG is represented on Council. The membership of the Council comprises the following:

• Ordinary Members (6)

Vacancies for ordinary members of Council are filled by nomination and, if necessary, election.

In 2008, the Society devised  a new system for finding suitable candidates for election to its various committees. Details of this protocol are outlined here.
