On 28th January 2022, at 12.00-13.30 GMT, we will run a workshop on peer review. This event is aimed at early career researchers but all are welcome. The training applies to all journals; the editors of Mineralogical Society journals will be present and available to answer questions. We will also have contributions by expert reviewers to gain insight from their approaches to peer review.
Colleagues from Cambridge University Press will chair the workshop.
Topics to be covered will include:
- Why review?
- Types of peer review
- Information to share with the Editor/Associate Editor
- The assessment process for journals
- Tips for reviewers
- Things to check for
- Possible outcomes
- Benefits for reviewers
- How to become a reviewer
- Be involved in your research community
- Select which journals for which to review
Certificates of attendance at the workshop will be available.
There is no cost to attend the workshop but pre-registration is required. Register using the form below.
